Vantage Review 2026: Regulation, Fees, Accounts and Risks

Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Nothing on this site is financial advice.
Note for India: Vantage is not authorised by the Reserve Bank of India to offer forex trading to Indian residents and appears on the RBI Alert List of unauthorised platforms. Under FEMA, Indian residents may trade forex only in permitted currency pairs, through RBI-authorised persons, recognised Indian exchanges or RBI-authorised platforms. If you open an account with an offshore broker, you do so at your own risk. RBI Alert List

Is Vantage safe and legit?
Short answer: Vantage is an established broker (since 2009) with licences in several jurisdictions. As with most global brokers, your protection depends on which Vantage company holds your account, and clients of the global website are placed with an offshore entity.
Vantage entities and regulators

| Entity | Regulator | Reference | Who it serves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vantage Global Limited | VFSC (Vanuatu) | Reg. No. 700271 | Global website clients |
| Vantage International Group Limited | CIMA (Cayman Islands) | SIBL 1383491 | Scope not confirmed |
| Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd | ASIC (Australia) | AFSL 428901 | Australian clients |
| Vantage Global Prime LLP | FCA (UK) | FRN 590299 | UK retail and professional clients |
| Vantage Markets (Pty) Ltd | FSCA (South Africa) | FSP 51268 | South African clients |
What this means in practice:
- On its regulation page Vantage says that by opening a global account you are opening it with Vantage Global Limited, regulated by the VFSC and not the UK FCA. (source)
- The same page lists what you do not get: guaranteed negative balance protection, FCA leverage limits, the Financial Ombudsman Service, the FSCS and FCA client-asset protection.
- Vantage says client money is kept in segregated trust accounts with Australian banks (source).
- Vantage describes an excess-of-loss insurance policy that pays only on an insolvency event and says it is not a deposit protection or compensation scheme. We could not confirm which entities it covers, so check before relying on it.
Regulatory history
In June 2018 ASIC accepted a court-enforceable undertaking from Vantage Global Prime after finding inadequate systems and controls in its CFD business, including a senior employee’s use of confidential client trading information (ASIC release). We found no later ASIC action against the firm. The FCA also publishes a warning about a clone firm using a similar name, so always check you are on the real Vantage website.
How Vantage makes money
Vantage markets Standard STP as bypassing a dealing desk and Raw ECN as unaltered pricing without markups. Its client agreement, however, states that Vantage may act as principal and counterparty to your transactions and is not obliged to hedge one-to-one. Treat the “no dealing desk” wording as marketing and read the agreement for your entity.
For the full trust check, see Is Vantage legit?
Vantage is a long-running broker with transparent help documentation. Global clients, though, sit under offshore regulation with no compensation scheme and no guaranteed negative balance protection, so it is not equivalent to a UK or Australian retail account.
Vantage account types
Vantage live accounts side by side.
| Standard STP | Raw ECN | Pro ECN | Cent | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum deposit | 50 (account currency) | 50 (account currency) | $10,000 | $50 |
| Commission | None (some ETFs and stocks excepted) | From $3.00/lot per side | From $1.50/lot per side | See Help Centre |
| Spread from | Sources conflict, check the live page | 0.0 pips | 0.0 pips | See Help Centre |
| Currency | 9 base currencies | 9 base currencies | Request via support | USC only |
| Best for | Simple, all-in spread pricing | Scalpers and high volume | Large accounts | Learning with small size |
Also available: swap-free accounts (minimum 50 units, with an administration fee replacing swaps) and Premium Unlimited, which offers leverage that falls as equity rises. It requires at least 10 trades and 3 lots in the past year, has a 30% margin call and a 0% stop out, and is not for beginners.
Which Vantage account should you choose?
- Beginner: start on a demo, then a small Standard STP or Cent account with low leverage.
- Scalper or EA trader: compare Raw ECN total cost (spread plus commission) against Standard STP.
- Large account: ask support about Pro ECN if you can deposit $10,000 or more.
Fees
- Commission: only on Raw ECN and Pro ECN (see above)
- Swaps: apply on overnight positions. Swap-free accounts pay a variable administration fee instead
- Deposits: no internal fee, but your bank may charge intermediary fees (source)
- Withdrawals: free, except an international bank transfer costs 20 units of your account currency plus any intermediary fees. The minimum withdrawal is $30 (source)
- Currency conversion: a 3% fixed fee applies to fiat or crypto conversion inside the funding account (source)
- Inactivity: accounts with a zero balance are archived after 90 days of inactivity (source)
Leverage, margin call and stop out
Vantage’s own pages disagree on maximum leverage, and it depends on your entity, country and account:
- The Help Centre lists 100:1 to 500:1 for standard accounts (source).
- The website advertises up to 1000:1 for eligible countries only.
- The Premium Unlimited account offers leverage from “unlimited” at low equity down to 1:500 above $100,000 (source).
- ASIC retail clients are limited to 30:1 on major FX pairs.
Vantage can also cut leverage automatically for risk, regulatory or news reasons. The margin call level is 50% and the stop out is 20%, closing the largest losing position first.
Leverage does not improve your strategy. It only changes how fast losses hit your account. Beginners should stay far below the maximum. Use our lot size calculator to size trades from the amount you can afford to lose.
Negative balance protection: Vantage runs an automatic service for eligible accounts, but says it is not guaranteed at the international entities and reviews abuse case by case (source).
Deposits and withdrawals
| Method | Deposit time | Withdrawal time |
|---|---|---|
| Card | Instant to 24 hours | 1–3 business days |
| Local bank transfer | Instant to 2 business days | 1–3 business days |
| International wire | 3–7 business days | Up to 5 business days |
| E-wallet | Instant to 1 business day | 1–3 business days |

Methods vary by region and are shown in your client portal. Card deposits are refunded to the card first, and third-party payments are not allowed (times, withdrawals). Details by account and method: Vantage minimum deposit and Vantage withdrawals.
Platforms, copy trading and demo
- Platforms: MT4, MT5, TradingView, WebTrader and the Vantage app
- Copy trading: Vantage’s own copy trading in the app, plus third-party options such as Myfxbook AutoTrade, ZuluTrade and DupliTrade. PAMM/MAM accounts also exist. See what copy trading is for costs and risks.
- VPS: a VPS subscription refund is available if you meet deposit and volume conditions
- Demo: Standard STP, Raw ECN and Perpetual demo accounts from $1,000 to $100,000 in virtual funds
Bonuses
Vantage offers opt-in deposit bonuses to eligible clients. The qualifying deposit starts at $50, they apply to STP and ECN accounts only, and every promotion has a cap (source). The bonus credit itself cannot be withdrawn, although profits made with it can be.
Is Vantage available in my country?
Vantage does not offer services to residents of certain jurisdictions “such as Canada, China, Singapore, the United States” or to jurisdictions on FATF and EU/UN sanctions lists (source). The list changes, so check the Help Centre before registering.
India: Vantage is named on the RBI Alert List of unauthorised forex platforms (updated 19 November 2025). Under FEMA, Indian residents may trade forex only in permitted currency pairs through RBI-authorised persons, recognised Indian exchanges or RBI-authorised platforms. If you are in India, weigh this legal risk before opening an account.
Vantage alternatives
| If you want… | Compare |

| Tier-1 retail protection | Brokers regulated by the FCA or ASIC for retail clients |

Other broker reviews with a different entity setup: Kama Capital (three entities, no segregation), CMC Markets (Bermuda entity for international clients) and GTC (six named entities).
Bottom line
Vantage is an established broker with low entry deposits, a choice of STP and raw-spread accounts, free withdrawals apart from international wires, and a strong platform line-up including MT4, MT5 and TradingView. The Help Centre is detailed and easy to check.
The trade-offs are clear. Global clients sit with an offshore Vanuatu entity, without FCA or ASIC retail protections, negative balance protection is not guaranteed, and very high leverage is only a few clicks away. Marketing describes a no-dealing-desk model while legal documents allow Vantage to act as counterparty.
Our recommendation: suitable for experienced traders who understand the offshore-entity trade-off and keep leverage low. Beginners should start with a demo account and small size, and anyone who needs tier-1 retail protection should compare alternatives first.
