Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Nothing on this site is financial advice.

Short answer: Vantage’s Help Centre describes five live account types. Standard STP and Raw ECN open with 50 units of account currency. Cent needs $50 and trades in US cents. Pro ECN needs $10,000. Premium Unlimited has no published minimum but asks for at least 10 trades and 3 lots in the past year. A swap-free version exists where local rules allow it. You cannot change an account’s type after registration.

Standard STP

This is the account with no commission on most products. The Help Centre says trades go straight to liquidity providers without a dealing desk, and that the account comes as both demo and live. The footnote excludes “certain ETFs and stock products” from the no-commission rule and adds that “other fees may be applicable” (source).

Because the spread already contains the cost, you can work out a trade’s price from the quote alone. That makes Standard STP the simplest account to budget for. Our guide to what a spread is shows how to turn a quote into a cost.

Raw ECN

Raw ECN swaps the wider spread for a commission. Vantage lists spreads from 0.0 pips and commission from $3.00 per lot per side, which means $6.00 for opening and closing one lot, if you read “per side” as each of the two legs (source). It also lists free access to the Vantage Protrader platform.

Whether Raw ECN is cheaper depends on how far Standard STP’s spread is above Raw’s. We could not confirm a fixed Standard STP spread, because the Help Centre says only “low spreads”. Compare live spreads in your own account before deciding. For the difference between the two models, see ECN vs STP.

Pro ECN

Pro ECN lowers the commission to $1.50 per lot per side and asks for $10,000, “terms and conditions apply” (source). The article ends by pointing to a separate page on how to upgrade a Pro ECN account. It also says to check available currencies on the application page, so Pro ECN may not offer all nine currencies that Standard STP and Raw ECN do.

At $1.50 versus $3.00 per side, the saving is $3.00 per round-trip lot. That only matters if you trade enough lots, and a $10,000 deposit is a lot of capital to put on an offshore account (see the entity section below).

Cent

A Cent account shows your balance in US cents, so $50 appears as 5,000 cents. The Help Centre gives a minimum deposit of $50, a minimum lot of 0.01 and trading only in US Dollar Cent (USC), and warns it “may not be available in all regions” (source).

One platform change to know about: Vantage says new Cent accounts can no longer be created on MT4. Existing MT4 Cent accounts keep working, and a new one must be opened on MT5 (source).

Premium Unlimited

Premium Unlimited uses leverage that falls as your equity rises:

Account equity Leverage
$0 to $5,000 1:Unlimited
$5,000.01 to $30,000 1:2000
$30,000.01 to $100,000 1:1000
$100,000.01 and above 1:500

The Help Centre states the cap as “up to 1:2,000,000,000” on forex and gold CFDs, subject to dynamic adjustments, and adds a 30% margin call level, a 0% stop out level and a 20% swap discount (source). A 0% stop out level means the platform does not close positions at a set margin level. Losses on a small, highly leveraged account can therefore run until equity is gone.

New accounts must have made at least 10 trades with a total volume of 3 lots or more within a year, in forex, gold, oil or BTCUSD. Existing Premium clients are exempt. Margin rules for it are covered in Vantage leverage.

Swap-free accounts

Vantage says swap-free accounts are for traders who cannot pay or receive swaps for religious reasons. An administration fee replaces the swap and is deducted from your balance, and the minimum deposit is 50 units of account currency (source). Availability follows regional rules, so log in to the Client Portal or Vantage app to see what is offered to you (source). We could not find the amount of the administration fee in the Help Centre.

Account holder types and currencies

Separate from the trading account type, Vantage offers individual, joint and company account holders. A joint account is for two people who are “jointly and severally responsible” for all activity, and a company account needs a certificate of incorporation, proof of company address and an executed application pack (source).

Base currencies are AUD, USD, GBP, EUR, NZD, SGD, JPY, CAD and HKD, and availability depends on the account type (source). The account type, currency and platform cannot be changed after registration. To use a different one, open an additional account in the Client Portal (source).

Demo accounts

Vantage lists three demo types: Standard STP, Raw ECN and Perpetual. Balances range from $1,000 to $100,000, in the same nine currencies (source). Vantage lists no demo for Pro ECN, Cent or Premium Unlimited.

Where Vantage’s own pages disagree

The article titled “What are the types of live accounts on Vantage?” lists only Standard STP, Raw ECN, Pro ECN and Swap Free (source). It was last updated in September 2025. The Cent and Premium Unlimited articles were updated in August 2026, so we treat both as current accounts. The older overview has simply not been revised.

Which company holds your account

The account type does not change who you contract with. Clients of Vantage’s global website sign with Vantage Global Limited, regulated in Vanuatu, not with its UK or Australian companies, so there is no FCA or ASIC protection on that account. Read Is Vantage legit? and the full Vantage review. Fees by method are in Vantage minimum deposit.

India: Vantage is named on the RBI Alert List of unauthorised forex platforms (updated 19 November 2025). Under FEMA, Indian residents may trade forex only in permitted currency pairs through RBI-authorised persons, recognised Indian exchanges or RBI-authorised platforms. If you are in India, weigh this legal risk before opening an account.

Bottom line

For a first live account, Vantage’s own descriptions point to Standard STP (no commission on most products, 50 units to start) or Cent where it is offered. Raw ECN only makes sense once you have compared its commission with the Standard spread on the instruments you trade. Pro ECN needs $10,000, and Premium Unlimited carries a 0% stop out level, so neither is a starting point. Open a demo first, and only deposit money you can afford to lose.
