Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Nothing on this site is financial advice.

Short answer: Vantage says it charges no withdrawal fee except on international bank transfers, which cost 20 units of your account currency (150 HKD or 3,000 JPY). The minimum withdrawal is $30 (3,000 JPY), or your full balance if it is lower. Withdrawals take 0–2 business days by crypto, 1–3 by card, local bank or e-wallet, and up to 5 by international wire. You need verified ID and address first, and card deposits are always paid back to the card first.

Vantage withdrawal fees

Method Vantage fee
Debit or credit card None
Local bank transfer None
E-wallet None
Cryptocurrency None from Vantage (network fees not covered in the Help Centre)
International bank transfer 20 units of account currency (150 HKD, 3,000 JPY)

Two points to keep in mind:

  • Intermediary fees are yours. Vantage says fees charged by banks or other financial institutions in the chain “are not covered by Vantage and are the client’s responsibility.” A wire can arrive short of the amount you sent even after the 20-unit fee.
  • Small wires are expensive. On a $30 withdrawal by international wire, the $20 fee is two-thirds of the amount. If your region has a local bank transfer, card or e-wallet option, use it for small sums.

Minimum withdrawal

The minimum is $30, or 3,000 JPY on a JPY account. If your balance is below $30, Vantage asks you to withdraw the whole remaining balance rather than part of it.

Compare that with the minimum deposit of 50 units on Standard STP and Raw ECN (Vantage account types lists the others): you can withdraw part of a small first deposit, but not much of it by international wire once the fee is taken. See our guide to the Vantage minimum deposit for every account.

How long Vantage withdrawals take

Method Time
Cryptocurrency (USDT, BTC) 0–2 business days
Debit or credit card 1–3 business days
Local bank transfer 1–3 business days
E-wallet 1–3 business days
International bank transfer Up to 5 business days

A separate Help Centre page says that once approved, a withdrawal takes 2–5 business days depending on method and bank. Read the table as the normal range and 5 business days as the point to chase. Vantage says that if funds have not arrived after 5 business days, you should contact live chat or email. Withdrawals can be submitted at weekends but may be processed more slowly.

The rules that decide where your money goes

  • Verification first. You can only withdraw after your proof of identity and proof of address are approved.
  • Card first. If you deposited by card, withdrawals go back to the card first. Only after the card deposit has been fully returned does the rest go to your other methods.
  • Same name only. Withdrawals must go to a method in the same name as your trading account. Third-party payments are refused under Vantage’s AML policy.
  • Expired card. If the card you deposited with is no longer available, you can withdraw to another method in your own name. You may need to archive the old card in the portal first.
  • No broker-to-broker transfers. Vantage will not send money directly to another broker.
  • Cool-off periods. After you change your login password you must wait 24 hours to withdraw. After changing your email address, phone number or security authenticator the wait is 48 hours. Vantage calls these its T+1 and T+2 requirements.
  • Free margin. Losing open trades and a low margin level can block a withdrawal request.

Withdrawing with open positions

Vantage lets you withdraw while trades are open, but a withdrawal reduces your equity and so your margin level. Vantage’s margin call is at 50% and stop out at 20% on most accounts, according to our Vantage review. Withdrawing too much can bring an open position closer to automatic closure. Close or reduce positions first if you are near those levels.

Why withdrawals get rejected or delayed

Vantage lists the common reasons and fixes:

Problem What to do
Insufficient free margin Close or reduce positions, or withdraw less
Wrong bank or wallet details Check the details and resubmit; Vantage emails the reason for a rejection
Third-party account Withdraw only to a method in your own name
Expired or closed card Card issuer returns the money to Vantage, which reverses it to your account
Closed bank account If the bank holds the funds, ask it to return them to Vantage with confirmation
Wrong crypto address May be rejected; if already sent, the funds may be lost on the blockchain

Double-check crypto addresses in particular. A mistaken blockchain transfer usually cannot be reversed.

Step by step: making a withdrawal

  1. Log in to the client portal (or the Vantage app) and open Funds → Withdrawal.
  2. Choose the trading account to withdraw from and enter the amount.
  3. Choose the method: credit card, local bank transfer, cryptocurrency or international bank transfer (shown as “Offline Transfer”).
  4. Fill in the bank or wallet details and any documents requested, then submit.
  5. Approve the request with your security authenticator code if you have set one up. Vantage recommends it as protection against anyone who learns your password.

How safe is money waiting to be withdrawn?

Vantage says client funds are kept in segregated trust accounts with Australian banks. Clients of the global website, however, sign with Vantage Global Limited, regulated in Vanuatu, which comes with no compensation scheme and no guaranteed negative balance protection. Bottom line

Vantage withdrawals are free except international bank transfers (20 units), start at $30 and usually take 1–3 business days, or up to 5 by international wire. Verify your account before you need the money, keep a card or local bank method in your own name, avoid changing security settings just before withdrawing, and test with a small withdrawal first.

Frequently asked questions

Does Vantage charge withdrawal fees?

Vantage says withdrawals are free except international bank transfers, which cost 20 units of your account currency (150 HKD or 3,000 JPY). Banks and other intermediaries can charge their own fees, which you pay.

What is the Vantage minimum withdrawal?

$30, or 3,000 JPY. If your balance is below $30, you withdraw the full remaining balance.

How long does a Vantage withdrawal take?

The Help Centre lists 0 to 2 business days for crypto (USDT, BTC), 1 to 3 business days for cards, local bank transfers and e-wallets, and up to 5 business days for international bank transfers. Another Help Centre page says 2 to 5 business days after approval, depending on method and bank.

Why was my Vantage withdrawal rejected?

Vantage names insufficient free margin, incorrect withdrawal details and third-party transfers as common reasons. It says it sends an email with the reason and next steps.

Can I withdraw from Vantage with open positions?

Yes. Vantage allows withdrawals with open trades, but warns you to watch your margin level, because withdrawing reduces equity and can push positions towards a stop out.

Why can't I withdraw right after changing my password or email?

Vantage applies cool-off periods: 24 hours after a password change and 48 hours after changing your email, phone number or security authenticator.

Can I withdraw to a different card or method than I deposited with?

Card deposits are withdrawn back to the card first. After that, withdrawals go to the methods you used. If the original method is no longer available, Vantage allows another method in your own name; you may need to archive an expired card first.

Can I withdraw from Vantage at the weekend?

You can submit withdrawals at the weekend, but Vantage says processing may be delayed because weekends are not working days.
