Axi Review 2026: Regulation, Fees, Accounts and Risks
Advertiser disclosure: we may earn a commission if you open an account through our links. It does not affect our assessment. How we make money
Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Nothing on this site is financial advice.
Note for India: Axi is not authorised by the Reserve Bank of India to offer forex trading to Indian residents. Under FEMA, Indian residents may trade forex only in permitted currency pairs, through RBI-authorised persons, recognised Indian exchanges or RBI-authorised platforms. If you open an account with an offshore broker, you do so at your own risk. RBI Alert List
Axi does not accept clients from your country, so we don't link to it here. See other brokers, and always check that a broker is authorised where you live.

Anyone who expects the ASIC or FCA protection the Axi brand is known for: international accounts sit with an unlicensed St Vincent company
No negative balance protection, client money passed to Axi under title transfer, and several of Axi's pages disagreeing on fees, minimums and stop-out levels
Short answer: Axi is the brand of a group founded in Sydney in 2007 with ASIC, FCA and CySEC licences, but international clients on axi.com/int sign with AxiTrader LLC, a St Vincent and the Grenadines company that, by its own Client Agreement, is not licensed to issue CFDs there. Standard and Pro accounts have a $100 recommended minimum deposit, Pro costs $4.50 per lot round trip, and leverage goes up to 1000:1. There is no negative balance protection on these accounts.
How this review was made: we read Axi’s international website, its help centre, the AxiTrader LLC Client Agreement (effective 7 July 2026), both AxiTrader LLC Product Schedules (effective 25 September 2026), and ASIC and CySEC publications, as of October 2026. We have not opened a live account. Where Axi’s own pages disagree, we show both figures.

Pros
- Simple pricing: a commission-free Standard account or a Pro account at $4.50 per lot round trip
- Long history: the Axi group has held an ASIC licence since 21 December 2007
- Card, e-wallet and local bank deposits listed as free and instant in Asia, with card deposits from USD 5
- Choice of its own app, MT4 and MT5, with Autochartist and a separate copy trading app
- Axi Select, a free capital allocation programme of up to $1 million for traders who qualify
Cons
- Unlicensed offshore entity for international clients, so no ASIC, FCA or CySEC protection and no compensation scheme
- No negative balance protection: you can owe Axi money after a fast market
- Title transfer: the Client Agreement says your deposit becomes Axi's property and may be pooled and used for its hedging
- Axi's own pages disagree on withdrawal fees, the recommended deposit and account-closure rules
- An inactivity fee after 12 months without trading
- Past ASIC action against the Australian company over client money handling (2020, settled 2021)
Is Axi safe and legit?
Short answer: Axi is an established group, and its Australian, UK and Cypriot companies hold real licences. The account you open on the international website is with a different company that has no forex licence. Judge Axi by the contract you sign, which offers much less protection than the brand’s history suggests.
Axi entities and regulators
| Entity | Regulator / register | Reference | Who it serves (per Axi) |
|---|---|---|---|
| AxiTrader LLC | Registered company, SVG FSA (no CFD licence) | 4303 LLC 2025 | International clients on axi.com/int |
| AxiTrader Limited | SVG company | BCN 25417 BC 2019 | Issuer of the US10 and US15 server Product Schedule; Axi Select per the About page |
| AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd | ASIC (Australia) | AFSL 318232 | Australian clients; also holds a New Zealand Derivatives Issuer Licence (FSP 518226) per Axi’s Australian site |
| AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd (DIFC Branch) | DFSA (Dubai), category 4 | Not stated | UAE clients; Axi’s UAE site says it cannot hold client money (source) |
| Axi Financial Services (UK) Limited | FCA (UK) | FRN 466201 | UK clients |
| Solaris EMEA Ltd | CySEC (Cyprus) | Licence 433/23 | EU clients |
We confirmed the ASIC licence in ASIC’s licensee dataset (source) and Solaris EMEA Limited with licence 433/23 on CySEC’s list of Cypriot investment firms (source). The FCA register blocked our requests, so the UK number comes from the footer of Axi’s UK website (source). Check it yourself on the FCA register.
What this means for an international client:
- Clause 1.1 of the Client Agreement names AxiTrader LLC (4303 LLC 2025) as your counterparty and states: “The FSA does not regulate, monitor, supervise or licence margin FX and contracts for difference issuers.” (source) The help centre says the same company is “registered by” the SVG FSA (source). Registration is not a licence.
- Client money. Under clause 21.3, you agree that your funds may be co-mingled with other clients’ money, that “you transfer to us absolute title to the funds”, and that Axi may use them for margining and settling its own derivatives dealings. Axi keeps any interest. If Axi defaults, the agreement says you “may become an unsecured creditor”.
- No negative balance protection. The help centre says “Axi clients trading under an SVG license are NOT covered by negative balance protection” and must pay any amount owed (source).
- Disputes. After Axi’s internal process (it aims to answer within 21 calendar days), CFD complaints can go to the Financial Commission, a private dispute body and not a regulator. Axi publishes an AxiTrader LLC membership certificate (source). The help centre says the Financial Commission’s fund can recommend compensation of up to EUR 20,000 per client, and only when a member refuses to follow a ruling (source). We could not open the Financial Commission’s own page to check the membership.
- Governing law is England and Wales (clause 20), even though the company is in St Vincent.
The help centre serves several Axi companies at once. Some articles describe the Cyprus company (CySEC retail stop-out, the Cyprus Financial Ombudsman), so check that an article applies to AxiTrader LLC before relying on it.
Regulatory history
- ASIC (Australia): on 2 January 2020 ASIC suspended the AFS licence of AxiCorp Financial Services Pty Ltd for four months. It found the company had failed to pay client money into an account with an Australian deposit-taking institution and to follow client money reporting rules, among other breaches. The Administrative Appeals Tribunal stayed the suspension (ASIC 20-019MR). ASIC then imposed extra licence conditions, including an independent expert review, and on 9 March 2021 the Tribunal set the suspension aside (ASIC 21-044MR).
- New Zealand FMA: the FMA has published releases about suspending, and later lifting the suspension of, AxiCorp’s derivatives issuer licence. Its website blocked our requests, so we could not read the details or dates.
- Clone firms: Axi’s security page warns about fake websites using its name and gives axiau.pro as an example (source). Only use axi.com and the client portal it links to.
These events concern the Australian company, not AxiTrader LLC, but both share the Axi brand.
How Axi makes money
Axi deals as principal: the Product Schedule says “we deal as principal therefore the prices we offer you may not be the same as those in the Underlying Market” (source). You pay through spreads, commissions, swaps and fees, and Axi may profit when you lose. It may also pay introducing brokers through wider spreads or higher commissions on your account.
The Axi group is long-established and licensed in Australia, the UK and Cyprus. The international account is a different matter: an unlicensed St Vincent company, title transfer of client money and no negative balance protection. Treat it as an offshore account with a well-known name, and size deposits accordingly.
Axi account types

Source: Axi trading accounts page (source). A newer help article repeats the Standard and Pro figures and adds a 0.01-lot minimum trade size, MT4 and MT5, EAs, VPS and Autochartist on both (source). You can switch between Standard and Pro only with no open trades.
Elite needs a $25,000 deposit. The help centre adds that “in certain regions” you must also keep a $25,000 balance and trade $50 million a month (source). The MT4/MT5 Product Schedule only says Elite commissions “may be lower” than Pro, without giving a number.
Other accounts:
- USD Cent: MT5 only, on dedicated servers, in “selected regions, including parts of Asia, Africa, and Latin America”. It covers forex, metals, indices and oil, but not shares or futures (source).
- Swap-free: available on MT4/MT5. Axi charges a fixed overnight holding fee instead of swaps (source). On the Axi Trading Platform, swap-free is set automatically only for residents of the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Lebanon and Turkey (source).
- Axi Select: a free capital allocation programme, covered below.
Axi Select: how the funded programme works
Axi Select is Axi’s own funded-trader programme. Axi says it is free to join, with no sign-up fee and no paid challenge. You trade your own live account, Axi scores you with an “Edge Score”, and as the score and your equity rise, Axi allocates more of its capital on top of your funds. The programme page lists six stages, which Axi calls indicative and subject to change (source):
| Stage | Minimum equity | Edge Score | Maximum funding | Profit share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seed | $500 | 50 | $5,000 | 0% |
| Incubation | $1,000 | 60 | $20,000 | 40% |
| Acceleration | $2,000 | 70 | $100,000 | 50% |
| Pro | $5,000 | 90 | $200,000 | 60% |
| Pro 500 | $10,000 | 90 | $500,000 | 70% |
| Pro M | $20,000 | 90 | $1,000,000 | 80% |
Two catches. The Seed stage pays no profit share on Axi’s capital, and your own $500 or more is at risk the whole time. Axi’s About page also says Axi Select “is only available to clients of AxiTrader Limited”, while the programme page is promoted by AxiTrader LLC. We could not resolve which company runs it, so ask Axi in writing before you join.
Which Axi account should you choose?
- New trader: a demo first, then a small Standard account with leverage set well below the maximum.
- Frequent or EA trader: compare Standard’s spread with Pro’s raw spread plus $4.50. On one lot of EURUSD, Pro costs $4.50 plus whatever spread you pay, against 0.68 pips (about $6.80 per lot) at the advertised Standard minimum. Our spread guide explains the maths.
- High-volume trader: ask about Elite, and check which balance and volume rules apply in your country.
Fees
| Fee | What Axi’s documents say |
|---|---|
| Commission | Standard none · Pro $4.50 round trip · Elite $3.50 round trip (website). The Product Schedule charges USD $4.50 per standard contract on “Premium” accounts, with other amounts by currency (for example €4.00, £3.50, AUD $4.50) |
| Swaps | Applied daily about 30 seconds before the 17:00 New York close, triple on Wednesday or Thursday depending on the pair |
| Deposits | Bank transfers free with no limit. Card and other methods free up to US$50,000 a month, then 3.0% |
| Withdrawals | Free above US$50 or for the full balance; otherwise a US$25 administration fee may apply |
| Inactivity | After 12 months with no trades and no open positions: 10 per month in USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, CHF, NZD, SGD; HKD 80; JPY 1,000; PLN 40; ZAR 177; USC 1,000 |
Sources: MT4/MT5 Product Schedule (source) and Axi’s fees page (source).
Where Axi’s pages disagree:
- Payment fees. The Asia payments page says “Axi does not charge any fees for deposits or withdrawals, for any payment method” (source). The same page then says card and Neteller fees may be passed on above $50,000 a month, and the Product Schedule lists the US$25 small-withdrawal fee and the 3.0% charge. The Product Schedule is the contractual document and is dated 25 September 2026, so assume those fees can apply.
- Commission wording. The help centre says Pro commission is “US$4.50 per round trip per lot”, split between opening and closing. The Product Schedule says the commission is payable “when you open a Position”. Both give $4.50 per lot in total. The Product Schedule also calls the account “Premium” rather than “Pro”.
- Closing dormant accounts. The Client Agreement says Axi may close a zero-balance account after 24 months without trades. The Product Schedule says 12 months, and in another paragraph 6 months.
Leverage, margin call and stop out
- Maximum leverage: Axi’s account pages say up to 1000:1 on all three accounts. The MT4/MT5 Product Schedule lists 1000:1 as the maximum product leverage on major forex pairs and gold (source).
- Changes since March 2025: major forex and precious metals rose from 500:1 to 1000:1, exotic pairs fell from 500:1 to 333:1, and Bitcoin and Ethereum stay at 200:1 for the first USD 2 million of exposure (source).
- By country: the help centre says the maximum “differs depending on your country of residence” and asks you to contact Axi to confirm it (source).
- Dynamic margin: margin rises in tiers as position size grows, and hedged positions are margined at 10% to 100% of the normal rate.
News trading conflict. The leverage help article says “Axi does not offer leverage limitations during news trading”. Clause 4.3(c) of the Client Agreement, however, lets Axi raise margin on new positions without notice “during major news events, earnings releases, market closures or other periods of high volatility”, which it calls a Higher Margin Requirement. The contract is the binding document, so expect lower leverage around big news.
Margin call: Axi sends a notification when your margin level drops below 100%, but says it does not guarantee you will receive it (source).
Stop out (liquidation level): 20% on MT4 and MT5 Standard, Pro and Elite accounts according to the Product Schedule and the help centre (source). The Axi Platform Product Schedule sets 50% for Standard and Pro accounts on Axi’s own app (source). Both documents let Axi vary the level in writing. Our margin call and stop out guide shows how these levels work with real numbers.
With no negative balance protection, high leverage can leave you owing Axi money after a gap. 1000:1 means a 0.1% move against you wipes out the margin on a fully leveraged position. Read what leverage really does and size trades with our lot size calculator.
Deposits and withdrawals
Payment methods depend on your region. Our Axi minimum deposit guide breaks the figures down by account and method. The Asia page lists these deposit options, all marked free:
| Method | Minimum | Maximum | Time to account |
|---|---|---|---|
| Credit/debit card | USD 5 | USD 100,000 | Instant |
| PayPal | USD 10 | USD 10,000 | Instant |
| International bank transfer | USD 10 | USD 1,000,000 | 1–3 days |
| Local bank transfer (CNY, IDR, KRW, MYR, PHP, THB, VND) | Varies, e.g. MYR 50, THB 500 | Varies | Instant |
| Skrill | EUR 5 | EUR 100,000 | Instant |
| Neteller | USD 5 | USD 100,000 | Instant |
| Crypto (BTC, ETH, LTC, XRP, XLM, USDT) | USD 50 | USD 250,000 | Up to 15 minutes |
Source: Axi deposits and withdrawals, Asia (source). The help centre gives different minimums for some methods: crypto USD 30 and Skrill USD 10 (source). It also caps deposits at USD 5,000 until your account is verified.
Minimum deposit conflict. The account pages give $100 as the recommended minimum for Standard and Pro. The help centre says the minimum depends on the payment method and recommends “at least USD 200” so the balance can cover margin (source). Neither figure is a hard account minimum.
Withdrawals:
- Axi aims to process requests within 1–2 business days, Monday to Friday. Bank transfers then take 1–3 business days (up to 5), and card withdrawals are listed as instant after processing (source). The Product Schedule disagrees on cards: refunds “usually take between 3 -5 Business Days” to appear on your statement. The payments page gives a wider estimate of 1 to 7 business days depending on your bank and country.
- Bank withdrawals under USD 50 are refused unless they are your full balance. Card withdrawals start at USD 5 (source).
- Return to source: you must first withdraw up to the amount you deposited back to the same method, and profits then go by an available method (source).
Platforms, copy trading and tools
- Axi Trading Platform: Axi’s own app for desktop and mobile, with its own Product Schedule. It also carries crypto perpetual futures with maker/taker and funding fees.
- MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5: with Expert Advisors and Autochartist.
- Axi Copy Trading app: links to your MT4 or MT5 account. Axi says it is “provided in partnership with London & Eastern LLP”.
- Instruments: Axi’s home page says “650+ instruments” across forex, indices, shares, commodities and ETFs, plus crypto.
Bonuses and promotions
Axi publishes no standing welcome bonus. The help centre says active promotions are sent to clients by email or WhatsApp, each with its own terms. On bonus credit it is clear: you cannot withdraw it, any withdrawal or internal transfer before expiry removes it, and if your equity falls below the credit balance the credit is removed and open trades can be closed (source). If your cash balance goes below zero, you must still settle the negative balance.
Is Axi available in my country?
The help centre says Axi cannot offer accounts to people living in the United States (source) or in Ontario, Canada (source), “due to regulatory restrictions”. The footer of axi.com/int says the site “is not intended for Australian and New Zealand residents”, who are served by the Australian company. UK and EU residents are directed to the FCA and CySEC companies on Axi’s regional sites.
We did not find a full list of restricted countries for AxiTrader LLC. The Client Agreement only says its information is not meant for residents of any country where offering the products is restricted. If you live outside the countries above, confirm with Axi which company would hold your account before you deposit, and check your local regulator’s rules on offshore brokers.
Axi alternatives
| If you want… | Compare |

| Raw-spread and STP accounts with an Australian-founded broker | Vantage review |
| A cent account and very low entry deposit | Exness review |
| Another offshore broker with STP and raw-spread pricing | VT Markets review |

Other broker reviews with a different entity setup: GTC (six named entities), MH Markets (FSC Mauritius, UAE warning) and Riyadex (FSCA-authorised South African FSP).
Bottom line
Axi offers clear pricing: a commission-free Standard account, a Pro account at $4.50 per lot round trip, leverage up to 1000:1 and a choice of its own app, MT4 and MT5. The group behind it has a long history and real licences in Australia, the UK and Cyprus.
International clients do not get those licences. The account sits with AxiTrader LLC in St Vincent and the Grenadines, there is no negative balance protection, client money passes to Axi under title transfer, and Axi’s own pages disagree on withdrawal fees, the recommended deposit and how fast dormant accounts are closed.
Our recommendation: suitable for experienced traders who understand the offshore set-up, keep leverage far below the maximum and deposit only money they can afford to lose. Beginners should start on a demo, and anyone who needs regulator-backed protection should compare alternatives first.
