Short answer: VT Markets’ main costs are the spread (from 1.2–1.3 pips on Standard STP, from 0.0 on RAW ECN), a $6 per lot round-turn commission on RAW ECN forex, metals and oil, $2 per lot on commodities, percentage commissions on non-US share CFDs, and overnight swaps, which the Client Agreement lets it mark up. Non-trading costs are low: no deposit fee, the first bank wire withdrawal each month free then $20 per wire, Skrill 1% and Neteller 2%. We found no inactivity fee.

Spreads and commissions by account
| Pair | Standard STP spread | RAW ECN spread | RAW ECN commission |
|---|---|---|---|
| EURUSD | from 1.3 pips | from 0.0 pips | $6 per lot round turn |
| GBPUSD | from 1.8 pips | from 0.6 pips | $6 per lot round turn |
| AUDUSD | from 1.6 pips | from 0.4 pips | $6 per lot round turn |
| USDJPY | from 1.5 pips | from 0.5 pips | $6 per lot round turn |
These are minimums. The help centre says spreads widen during volatility, news and thin trading hours. On a USD-quoted pair one pip is $10 per standard lot, so the RAW ECN commission is worth 0.6 pips. Which account works out cheaper for your pairs is covered in our VT Markets account types guide.
Illustrative month (not a quote): a trader closes 10 standard lots of EURUSD.
| Standard STP | RAW ECN | |
|---|---|---|
| Spread at the “from” level | 10 × 1.3 × $10 = $130 | 10 × 0.0 = $0 |
| Commission | $0 | 10 × $6 = $60 |
| Best-case total | $130 | $60 |
Real spreads are often wider than the minimum on both accounts, so treat this as the floor. Use our pip calculator with the live spread you see in MT4/MT5.
Indices, commodities and share CFDs
Two help centre articles give different index pricing. The general commissions article says indices carry no commission on Standard STP and RAW ECN ($1 per lot round turn on VIP STP). A second article lists $1 per lot on HK and “other” indices and $0.02 on the Japan index (source). Check the commission column in your platform’s trade history after a small trade.
Share CFDs:
| Market | Help centre | Key Facts Summary |
|---|---|---|
| US shares | No commission | 6 USD per transaction |
| UK shares | 0.1% of contract value per side | Not listed |
| EU shares | 0.1% of contract value per side | Not listed |
| Hong Kong shares | 0.25% per side, minimum HKD 50 | 0.25% or HKD 50, whichever is greater |
| Australian shares | Not listed | 0.08%, minimum AUD 8 per transaction |
The Key Facts Summary also says VT Markets may charge a market data subscription fee if you trade share CFDs, without stating the amount, and the help centre lists tax on share products as a possible cost (source, source).
Illustrative share CFD costs (round trip, open and close):
- UK share, £5,000 position: 0.1% × £5,000 = £5 per side, so £10.
- Hong Kong share, HKD 10,000 position: 0.25% would be HKD 25, below the HKD 50 minimum, so HKD 50 per side, HKD 100.
- US share: $0 under the help centre, or $12 if the Key Facts Summary’s $6 applies to both the opening and closing trade. We could not confirm which applies.
Swaps and the mark-ups behind them
Swaps are the interest you pay or earn for holding a position past the daily cut-off. The help centre gives three formulas, depending on how the symbol’s swap is quoted: in points, in currency, or as an annual percentage ÷ 360 of the position value (source). Rates are shown in each symbol’s Specification in MT4/MT5.
Triple swap days (source):
- Forex, gold and silver: Wednesday night
- Indices, commodities and shares: Friday night
What the Client Agreement adds (source):
- Forex (clause 5.1): a transaction fee of up to 10% of the swap charge or credit on positions held overnight. No swap or fee applies if you open and close on the same trading day.
- Spot CFDs such as indices (clause 5.2): the overnight rate is the liquidity provider’s rate plus 3.5% a year. Illustration: on a $10,000 index position, the 3.5% part alone is about $10,000 × 3.5% ÷ 360 ≈ $0.97 per night.
- Futures CFDs such as oil (clause 5.3): at contract rollover, an adjustment for the price difference less an administration fee of 2.5 basis points, which is $2.50 on a $10,000 position.
We could not confirm whether the swap rates displayed in MT4/MT5 already include these fees. Assume they do not reduce your cost.
Illustrative swap: if a symbol showed a swap of −$7 per lot per night (an assumed figure), holding 1 lot over Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights would cost $7 + $7 + $21 (Wednesday counts triple) = $35, before any mark-up.
Swap-free accounts pay an administration fee instead, calculated at 0:00 platform time and applied between 1:00 and 2:59 (source). The Key Facts Summary says the fee combines liquidity providers’ fees with an internal processing fee of about 10%. Zero-fee swap-free accounts are limited to designated countries (source).
Non-trading fees
| Item | Fee |
|---|---|
| Deposits | None from VT Markets; your bank or intermediary may charge (source) |
| Bank wire withdrawal | First each month free, then a fixed fee equivalent to $20 per request |
| Skrill / Neteller withdrawal | 1% / 2% processing fee |
| Transfers between your accounts | Free in the same currency; not allowed across currencies (source) |
| Currency conversion | No fee, per Client Agreement clause 3.3(e); VT-Wallet conversions apply a spread to the rate (source) |
| Inactivity | None found |
| ClubBleu loyalty programme | No membership fee (source) |
| Copy trading | Signal providers may charge a performance fee |
One more contradiction: the Key Facts Summary says banks may charge for deposits and withdrawals but “we, as a firm, do not charge for these actions”, while the help centre lists the $20 repeat-wire fee. Plan for the $20. Full withdrawal times and rules are in our VT Markets withdrawal guide.
No inactivity fee, but archiving. Accounts are archived automatically when idle: MT4 after 90 days with $5 or less, MT5 after 90 days with $1 or less, and Cent after just 5 days with 100 USC or less (source).
Fees can change
The Key Facts Summary (section 8.4) says VT Markets may add fees or raise fees and spreads after giving notice, and the Client Agreement lets it deduct charges from your account. It also says VT Markets may pay an introducer who referred you; VestNorth may be paid this way. These costs come from the offshore entity VT Markets Limited, Mauritius, so there is no government ombudsman or compensation scheme like the UK’s FOS or FSCS if you dispute a charge. Read our VT Markets review for the full risk picture.
India: VT Markets’ own website footer names India as a restricted jurisdiction, and it is named on the RBI Alert List of unauthorised forex platforms (entry 41, updated 19 November 2025). Under FEMA, Indian residents may trade forex only in permitted currency pairs through RBI-authorised persons, recognised Indian exchanges or RBI-authorised platforms. Weigh that legal risk before opening an account.
Bottom line
VT Markets’ headline fees are competitive: free deposits, one free wire a month, and $6 per lot round turn on RAW ECN. The costs that need checking are the ones in the small print: swap mark-ups of up to 10%, a 3.5% a year fee on spot CFD financing, and conflicting share CFD and index commissions. Make one small trade, read the commission and swap lines in your history, and only then scale up with money you can afford to lose.

Frequently asked questions
What fees does VT Markets charge?
Trading costs are spreads, commissions ($6 per lot round turn on RAW ECN forex, $2 on commodities, percentages on non-US share CFDs) and overnight swaps. Non-trading costs are low: no deposit fee, the first bank wire withdrawal each month free, then $20 per wire, 1% on Skrill and 2% on Neteller.
Does VT Markets charge commission on Standard STP?
Not on forex, gold, silver and oil, where the cost is in the spread. Commodities still carry $2 per lot round turn and non-US share CFDs a percentage commission on every account.
Does VT Markets charge commission on US share CFDs?
Its own documents disagree. A help centre article says US CFD shares have no commission, while the Key Facts Summary says US share CFDs typically attract a fee of 6 USD per transaction. Check the charge shown in your platform before trading.
Does VT Markets have an inactivity fee?
We found no inactivity fee in the help centre, Client Agreement or Key Facts Summary, though none of them rules one out explicitly. Idle accounts with a very small balance are archived instead, after 90 days on MT4 and MT5 and after 5 days on Cent accounts.
Are VT Markets swaps marked up?
The Client Agreement allows a transaction fee of up to 10% of the swap on forex positions held overnight, and adds a 3.5% per year fee on top of the liquidity provider's rate for spot CFDs. Check the swap in each symbol's specification.
Is VT Markets cheap compared with other brokers?
Its RAW ECN commission of $6 per lot round turn and free deposits are in line with many raw-spread brokers. Total cost depends on live spreads and swaps, so compare the same pair and size across brokers before you choose.
