Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Nothing on this site is financial advice.

Short answer: Titan FX says leverage goes up to 1000:1 on Standard and Blade accounts and up to 2000:1 on Micro accounts for clients who meet its conditions (source). The cap depends on the instrument, from 1000:1 on FX majors and gold down to 100:1 on crypto CFDs and 20:1 on share CFDs. A stop out happens at a 20% margin level (source). Leverage that high leaves almost no room for error on a small account.

Maximum leverage by instrument
Titan FX’s leverage page and a help centre article updated on 4 September 2026 give the same maximums (source):
| Instrument | Standard and Blade | Micro |
|---|---|---|
| FX majors and minors | 1000:1 | 2000:1 (eligible clients) |
| Gold (XAUUSD) | 1000:1 | 1000:1 |
| Silver (XAGUSD) | 500:1 | 1000:1 |
| Platinum and palladium | 500:1 | Not available |
| Major index CFDs (JPN225, NAS100, US30, US500) | 1000:1 | Not available |
| Other index CFDs | 500:1 | Not available |
| Energy (crude oil, natural gas) | 500:1 | Not available |
| Soft commodities | 50:1 | Not available |
| Crypto CFDs | 100:1 | 100:1 |
| Share CFDs | 20:1 | Not available |
Share CFDs, crypto CFDs and soft commodities have fixed leverage that does not change with your account setting. For the other instruments, your account leverage applies up to the maximum for that product. The website adds that higher-volatility products, including exotic FX pairs, silver and energy, face stricter caps.
One older figure to ignore. A help centre article dated July 2024 says leverage “can be selected from 1 to 500 times” (source). The 2026 pages above supersede it. Another article from May 2026 lists precious metals at 500:1 and index CFDs at 500:1 without the gold and major index exceptions (source). The September 2026 article and the website are newer and list the higher figures. Confirm the cap for your symbol in the Client Cabinet or on the platform.
How the Micro account reaches 2000:1
Titan FX says a Micro account can reach 2000:1 only if all of these hold across all your live accounts (source):
- total equity below USD 1,000;
- at least 10 closed trades;
- at least 5 standard lots traded, with micro lots converted to standard lots.
Eligibility is reviewed automatically every day at 00:15 server time. If you no longer qualify, leverage drops to 1000:1. It also drops to 1000:1 when total equity is above USD 1,000 and the margin level is above 1000%, or when total equity is above USD 1,000 and there are no open positions. Titan FX says it notifies you by SMS and email when leverage is under review or has been reduced, and that it “reserves the right to modify eligibility conditions without prior notice”. If your account is not in USD, equity is converted to USD at the rate available during the daily review.
The help centre adds that the 2000:1 level may be reduced to 1000:1 “depending on your account balance and open positions” (source). So 2000:1 is conditional and can disappear while you hold a trade. Do not size a position as if it will stay.
Temporary cuts around news and rollover
Titan FX’s page says it applies automatic leverage controls in high-volatility periods, around major economic releases and over weekend liquidity gaps (source).
- Major releases (CPI, NFP and similar). The maximum for new positions opened in the restricted period can be reduced, with the examples 1000:1 to 500:1 and 2000:1 to 1000:1. Positions opened before or after that period are not affected. Release times are on the economic calendar.
- Rollover, metals, energy and indices (not FX pairs). New positions are capped at 200:1 from about 15 minutes before the market close to about 15 minutes after the next day’s open, Monday to Thursday, and also from 15:20 to 15:40 server time Monday to Friday. From about 120 minutes before the Friday close until about 15 minutes after the Monday open, the cap is 100:1.
- Both limits apply. If an event limit and an instrument limit apply together, the lowest one is used for the position.
Crypto is the exception on weekends. The help centre says crypto CFD leverage stays at 100:1 and has no restriction before the weekend (source), though that article dates from February 2024.
What leverage does to your margin: worked examples
Titan FX gives the margin formula for FX: required margin = (contract amount x lots / leverage) x conversion rate to the account currency, where the contract size is 100,000 units on Standard and Blade and 1,000 on Micro (source).
Example 1 (our arithmetic, assumed price). Buy 1 standard lot of EURUSD on a USD Standard account. At 1000:1 the margin is 100,000 / 1,000 = 100 EUR. At an assumed EURUSD price of 1.1000 that is 110 USD. At 500:1 it would be 220 USD. Halving the leverage doubles the margin.
Example 2 (Titan FX’s stop out example). The help centre says stop out occurs when the margin level, equity divided by required margin x 100%, reaches 20% or less. Its example: an account with 10,000 USD opens positions needing 2,000 USD of margin. Stop out comes when equity falls to 400 USD, which is 20% of 2,000 USD (source). Titan FX also sends a notification email when equity falls below 90% of required margin.
Example 3 (our arithmetic, small account). Take the 110 USD margin from example 1 with only 150 USD of equity. Stop out comes at 20% of 110 USD, which is 22 USD of equity, so a loss of about 128 USD closes the trade. EURUSD is quoted so that 1 pip is worth 10 USD per standard lot, so that is roughly 13 pips. Our pip calculator checks the pip value for other pairs. A 13-pip move happens in minutes on a news day.
Titan FX says there are no limits on leverage based on account balance (source). That article is from 2023, and the Micro rules above and the website’s “dynamically adjusted” wording show balance does matter for 2000:1, so we treat the 2023 answer as outdated.
Hedged positions. The help centre says that when a position is fully hedged, the margin for the hedged part is 20% of the normal margin, with 100% required on a short list of instruments (some crypto pairs, THBJPY, MXNJPY, XNGUSD and the Zoom share CFD) (source). The list can change without notice.
Margin call, stop out and what the documents say
The help centre sets the stop out at a 20% margin level. The Product Disclosure Statement refers to “Margin Requirements of 20%” at which a stop out occurs. A help centre article on negative balances says a margin call is normally triggered when the maintenance rate falls below 90% and a forced loss cut at 20%, which reads as written for Japanese clients (source). The Product Disclosure Statement says margin calls are made on the platform, that you are responsible for watching your positions, and that Titan FX may close positions “without further notice” if you do not meet a call (source).
A conflict worth knowing. The same Statement says initial margin “will typically be between 1% and 10% of the face value of the Contract”, and that it can be above that range. At 1000:1 the margin is 0.1%. The Statement also says the percentage can change at any time and that you should check the initial margin schedule on the platform. So the document describes margin that is higher than the leverage pages imply. Rely on the margin the platform shows for the symbol you trade.
Negative balances. The instruments page lists “Account balances never less than zero”, with an asterisk “Subject to terms and conditions” (source). The help centre article says Titan FX compensates a negative balance after the next business day, examines whether the system applies and may refuse if it finds abuse. Treat this as discretionary. Read margin call and stop out for how the cascade works.
How to change your leverage
To lower leverage with no open positions, use the pencil icon next to the account number on the Client Cabinet dashboard. The help centre lists these choices: 500, 400, 300, 200, 100, 50, 25 and 1 on Standard and Blade, and 1000, 500, 400, 300, 100, 50, 25 and 1 on Micro. The 25x option cannot be chosen when you open a new account. To raise it, email support with your registered email, full name, account number, current and desired leverage (source).
Is high leverage a good idea?
Titan FX’s own page says “Trading CFDs comes with significant risk due to leverage. Leverage can amplify both profits and losses.” Use only a small share of the maximum. Our lot size calculator sizes a trade from the amount you can afford to lose, and what is leverage in forex explains the basics. Details on the account and its regulators are in our Titan FX review and the is Titan FX legit page.
Titan FX does not serve residents or nationals of the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the other countries on its Unsupported Countries list, updated on 23 July 2026 (source).
Bottom line
Titan FX offers up to 1000:1 on FX for Standard and Blade accounts and up to 2000:1 on Micro for clients under USD 1,000 who have traded 10 times and 5 lots. Caps fall on other instruments, around news and at rollover, and the Micro level can be removed without notice.
Stop out is at 20%, so with leverage near the maximum a short price move can close a small account. Pick a leverage setting well below the cap, size trades from your loss limit, and only deposit money you can afford to lose.

Titan FX says up to 1000:1 on Standard and Blade accounts and up to 2000:1 on Micro accounts for eligible clients. Caps differ by instrument: for example 500:1 on energy, 100:1 on crypto CFDs and 20:1 on share CFDs.
How do I qualify for 2000:1 leverage on the Micro account?
Across all your live accounts, total equity must be below USD 1,000, you need at least 10 closed trades and at least 5 standard lots traded. Titan FX reviews eligibility daily at 00:15 server time and says it can change the conditions without notice.
Does Titan FX reduce leverage during news?
Yes. Around major releases such as CPI and NFP, the maximum for new positions can fall, for example from 1000:1 to 500:1 and from 2000:1 to 1000:1. Positions opened before or after the restricted period are not affected.

The help centre says a stop out occurs when the margin level, equity divided by required margin, falls to 20% or less. Titan FX sends a notification email when equity drops below 90% of required margin.

To lower it, use the pencil icon next to the account number on the Client Cabinet dashboard, with no open positions. To raise it, email support with your registered email, name, account number and the leverage before and after.
Is high leverage safe at Titan FX?
High leverage magnifies losses as well as gains. At 1000:1 the margin for a position is 0.1% of its value, so a small price move can use up a small account. Titan FX's own page says trading CFDs comes with significant risk due to leverage.
