FBS Review 2026: Regulation, Fees, Leverage and Risks

Advertiser disclosure: we may earn a commission if you open an account through our links. It does not affect our assessment. How we make money

Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Nothing on this site is financial advice.

Is FBS safe and legit?

Short answer: FBS is a large, long-running broker, but clients of fbs.com are served by an offshore company under a Belize licence. That is a much lighter regime than the FCA, ASIC or CySEC.

FBS entities and regulators

Entity Regulator Reference Who it serves
FBS Markets Inc. Financial Services Commission, Belize Licence 4077102 International clients on fbs.com
Tradestone Ltd CySEC (Cyprus) Licence 331/17 EU clients on fbs.eu
  • FBS’s legal page says FBS Markets Inc. is registered by the Belize FSC under the Securities Industry Act 2021 (source). We could not read the Belize register directly, so verify the licence there.
  • The EU company Tradestone Ltd is a separate business under CySEC. FBS’s international terms exclude residents of the EEA, so it is not an option for global clients (CySEC register).
  • Older documents cite a different licence number. We use the number on the current legal page.

Client money and protection

FBS says client funds are held in accounts at several banks, separate from company money (source). We found no compensation fund and no Financial Commission membership stated for FBS Markets Inc. in FBS’s documents, so do not assume your deposit is covered if the company fails.

Negative balance protection is stated for all accounts, but FBS keeps the right to claim a debt when it considers the client’s actions intentional (Trading Conditions).

How FBS makes money

The Terms state that you deal with FBS as principal, meaning FBS is the counterparty to your trades, while it also uses several liquidity providers. Marketing mentions no requotes and fast execution.

Trust verdict

FBS is a long-established broker with clear published terms. But an offshore Belize licence, no stated compensation scheme and the right to change leverage and costs without notice make it a higher-risk choice than a tier-1 regulated retail broker.

Accounts and costs

Current FBS documents describe two accounts:

Standard Cent
Minimum deposit $5 overall (varies by payment method) From $1
Spread Floating from 0.7 pips From 0.7
Commission None stated From 0%
Order size 0.01–500 lots 0.01–1000 lots
How to open Directly Only through a partner’s referral link

The trading page also shows up to 500 open positions and 200 pending orders. The older Micro, Zero and ECN accounts are not in the current documents, so they appear to be discontinued.

Fees

  • Trading commission: none stated. Spreads are floating and can widen with no stated limit.
  • Deposits and withdrawals: FBS says it charges no commission, but its Terms reserve the right to charge up to 5% to cover its own transaction costs. Per-method fees are shown in the Trader Area.
  • Withdrawals: 10 free per month, then USD 1 each from the 11th (Terms and Conditions).
  • Inactivity: no inactivity fee found. Accounts are archived after 90 days of inactivity (source).
  • Swaps: per contract specifications. A swap-free option can be switched on for real accounts, but exotic instruments carry a fixed weekly commission and swap-free status can be revoked for arbitrage or carry-trade abuse.

FBS cost summary: what you pay and what you do not

If you are searching for FBS prices, this table puts the cost items from FBS’s own documents in one place. Spreads are floating and not fixed, so the real cost depends on the instrument and market conditions.

Cost item What FBS states Source
Trading commission None stated on Standard; Cent shown from 0% Trading conditions page
Spread Floating from 0.7 pips, can widen with no stated limit Trading Conditions
Deposit and withdrawal commission None charged, but the Terms reserve the right to charge up to 5% to cover FBS’s own transaction costs Terms and Conditions
Withdrawals 10 free per month, then USD 1 each from the 11th Terms and Conditions
Inactivity fee None found; accounts are archived after 90 days of inactivity Help centre
Swaps Per contract specifications; swap-free option on real accounts, with a fixed weekly commission on exotic instruments Help centre
VPS Free after a one-time $450 deposit for the first month, then $33 a month unless you trade at least 3 standard lots monthly Help centre

Because FBS deals as principal and can change costs without notice, check the current figures in the Trader Area before you deposit.

FBS review for UK traders

FBS Markets Inc. states in its legal footer that it does not offer services to residents of the UK, and the EU company Tradestone Ltd (CySEC) is a separate business that serves EU clients on fbs.eu. We therefore do not treat FBS as an option for UK residents, and we do not show FBS sign-up buttons to visitors in the UK. UK traders should look for a broker authorised by the FCA, which gives a lighter-risk regime than the offshore Belize licence that covers fbs.com clients.

Leverage, margin call and stop out

FBS maximum leverage by account equity: 1:3000 under 200, 1:2000 to 4,999, 1:1000 to 29,999, 1:500 to 149,999, 1:400 above Maximum leverage on the Standard account by equity.

  • Instrument caps: metals 1:500, indices and energy 1:200 (US30, US100 and US500 at 1:500), crypto 1:500 and stock CFDs up to 1:100.
  • Changes: FBS can change leverage without notice, including on open positions, and may reduce it over weekends (Trading Conditions).
  • Margin call at 40%, stop out at 20%.
Our advice

Leverage does not improve your strategy. It only changes how fast losses hit your account. At 1:3000 a price move of a few pips can close a small account. Use our lot size calculator to size every trade from the amount you can afford to lose.

Deposits and withdrawals

  • Methods: FBS says 200+, including cards, e-wallets such as Skrill, Neteller and Perfect Money, and local banks, depending on your country
  • Processing: requests are handled within 24 hours. E-wallets arrive the same day, and bank or card payments take 2–7 business days (source)
  • Order of withdrawal: first back to the card or method you deposited with, then other methods up to the amount deposited through each, then profit
  • Rejections: requests are automatically rejected while orders are open, and third-party payments are not allowed

Platforms, demo and VPS

  • Platforms: MT4, MT5 (Windows, macOS, web, mobile) and the FBS app
  • Demo: MT4 demo accounts expire after 40 days (25 days if opened from inside MT4)
  • Copy trading: FBS CopyTrade was closed on 22 September 2022 (source)
  • VPS: free after a one-time $450 deposit for the first month, then $33 a month unless you trade at least 3 standard lots monthly

Bonuses

FBS published terms for a deposit bonus in July 2025: 100% on a first deposit and 10–60% on later ones, capped at $10,000 per deposit and $25,000 in total (terms). The bonus itself can never be withdrawn, only profits, and withdrawing funds reduces the bonus by the same amount. It expires 28 days after your last deposit or trade.

Check before you opt in. We could not confirm the deposit bonus is currently running, and FBS's Terms let it change or end any promotion without notice. Bonus credit can change how withdrawals work, so read the terms first.

Is FBS available in my country?

Where FBS Markets Inc. does not offer services: USA, EU, UK, Israel, India, Iran and Myanmar named in the legal footer, and 43 jurisdictions in the Terms

FBS Markets Inc. states it does not offer services to residents of jurisdictions including the USA, the EU, the UK, Israel, India, Iran and Myanmar (source). Section 1.14 of the Terms lists 43 jurisdictions, among them Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine. For that reason we do not show FBS sign-up buttons to visitors in the US, UK, EU or Israel.

India: FBS’s own documents list India among the countries it does not serve. Separately, FBS is named on the RBI Alert List of unauthorised forex platforms (updated 19 November 2025). Under FEMA, Indian residents may trade forex only in permitted currency pairs through RBI-authorised persons, recognised Indian exchanges or RBI-authorised platforms.

FBS alternatives

If you want… Compare
Very low entry with clearer protections information Exness review
A broker with a Vanuatu entity and TradingView Vantage review
Tier-1 retail protection Brokers regulated by the FCA, ASIC or CySEC for retail clients

Other broker reviews with a different entity setup: AIMS (Labuan entity), Libertex (MAEX Limited, FSC Mauritius) and TW Trading (Vanuatu licence, ASIC investor alert).

Bottom line

FBS is a well-known broker with a very low entry deposit, no stated trading commission, MT4 and MT5, and a wide list of CFDs. Its terms are published in detail, which makes the risks easy to check.

The trade-offs are just as clear. Clients sit under an offshore Belize licence with no stated compensation scheme, leverage of up to 1:3000 is easy to overuse, FBS may change leverage and costs without notice, and its own terms exclude the US, EU, UK and India.

Our recommendation: a possible option for experienced traders in eligible countries who keep leverage low and deposit only what they can afford to lose. Everyone else should compare alternatives first.

Frequently asked questions

Is FBS legit?

FBS says it has operated since 2009. International clients of fbs.com sign with FBS Markets Inc., which states it is registered by the Financial Services Commission of Belize under licence number 4077102. That is an offshore regulator, so protection is lighter than at a UK, EU or Australian retail broker.

Which FBS entity do international clients use?

FBS Markets Inc., based in Belize City. The EU has a separate company, Tradestone Ltd (CySEC), operating fbs.eu, but fbs.com's terms exclude residents of the EEA.

What is the FBS minimum deposit?

FBS lists $5, but it varies by payment method. Its help centre gives $10 for Neteller and $12 for Skrill, for example. The Cent account can only be opened through a partner's referral link, and FBS lists a deposit from $1.

What is the maximum leverage at FBS?

Up to 1:3000 on the Standard account for equity of 0–199, falling to 1:2000 for 200–4,999, 1:1000 for 5,000–29,999, 1:500 for 30,000–149,999 and 1:400 from 150,000. Metals, indices, energy, crypto and stock CFDs have lower caps, and FBS can change leverage without notice.

Does FBS offer negative balance protection?

FBS says it applies to all accounts, but reserves the right to claim a debt when it considers the client's actions intentional.

Does FBS charge deposit or withdrawal fees?

FBS says it does not charge commission on deposits and withdrawals, but it allows 10 free withdrawals a month and then charges USD 1 each from the 11th. Its terms also reserve the right to charge up to 5% to cover its own transaction costs. Per-method fees are shown in the Trader Area.

Does FBS have a deposit bonus?

FBS published terms for a deposit bonus in July 2025, with 100% on a first deposit. The bonus itself can never be withdrawn, and FBS can change or end promotions without notice. Check whether it is currently available in your Trader Area.

Does FBS accept US, UK, EU or Indian clients?

No. FBS Markets Inc. states in its legal footer that it does not offer services to residents of jurisdictions including the USA, the EU, the UK, Israel, India, Iran and Myanmar.

How much does FBS cost?

FBS states no trading commission on Standard, with floating spreads from 0.7 pips. It charges no commission on deposits and withdrawals, but its Terms reserve the right to charge up to 5% to cover its own costs, and withdrawals after the first 10 each month cost USD 1 each. See the cost table in this review for the full list.

What are FBS spreads and prices?

FBS lists floating spreads from 0.7 pips. Spreads can widen with no stated limit, and FBS can change costs without notice, so the live price on your chosen instrument in the Trader Area is the only reliable figure.

Is FBS available in the UK?

No. FBS Markets Inc. states that it does not offer services to residents of the UK, and its international terms also exclude the EEA. UK residents should compare brokers authorised by the FCA instead.

Is FBS a good broker?

FBS is a long-running broker with a $5 entry point and MT4 and MT5, but fbs.com clients are served under an offshore Belize licence with no compensation scheme stated, and leverage of up to 1:3000 raises risk. Read the trust verdict in this review before deciding, and only trade with money you can afford to lose.
